Data study · 927 Google reviews · Dec 2016 – Jul 2026

We read all 927 of our Google reviews. Here's what they say.

Every operator quotes their best reviews. We counted all of ours instead — including the 73 that rate us three stars or less. The result: 79% five-star, one clear complaint theme we have had to fix, and the honest answer to why you see both a 4.6 and a 4.9 next to our name.

The whole corpus, in four lines

  • 732 of 927 reviews are five-star (79%) — 92% rate us 4★ or higher; 7.9% are critical.
  • 2 in 5 positive reviews name a specific team member. Guests thank Giri, Ajay, Varthika, or their driver by name — the service is a person, not a desk.
  • The #1 complaint is hotels — 38% of critical reviews mention the stay. It is why every quote now names the hotel in writing before you pay.
  • 4.6 and 4.9 are both true: 4.6 is the all-time average since 2016 (this corpus computes 4.61); 4.9 is the last 12 months.

What the critical reviews say — honestly

73 reviews rate us 1–3 stars. They are public, they are part of our record, and this is what they most often say:

ThemeReviewsShare of 1–3★What it usually means
Hotels & stays2838.4%the #1 complaint: the hotel not matching what was promised
Drivers & transport2128.8%late pickups, vehicle condition

"They have given us different hotel than they have mentioned in the package."

— Sneha, Oct 2023, 1★ Google review

That review describes our worst failure mode, and we treat it as the list we manage the business against. What has changed since: your quote is itemised in writing and names the hotel before you pay, so what was promised is a document, not a phone call. And where we once went quiet on criticism — our own data shows owner replies on just 19 of these 73 reviews — we now commit to replying to critical reviews as standard practice.

The 4.6 and the 4.9, reconciled

Look us up and you will meet two numbers. 4.6 is Google's all-time average — every review since December 2016, this corpus, and our history included; computed independently here it comes to 4.61. 4.9 is our average over the last 12 months, which we lead with because it reflects the team and the way trips run today. Neither number is the other one dressed up, and the gap between them is our own record of getting better — the hard year behind it is written up on the About page.

Methodology, honestly

Source: all 927 public Google reviews of our listing, captured July 2026 (first review December 2016). Theme counts use keyword-bucket matching on review text — a review counts once per theme it mentions. Buckets measure theme presence, not sentiment, which is why we report them split by star band rather than claiming per-sentence praise or blame. Quotes are word-for-word with the reviewer's public first name, month, and rating. The analysis script is deterministic: same corpus in, same numbers out. Refreshed with the quarterly rating recompute. If you use this data, link this page.

Questions this page gets asked

What do guests say about Tropical Andamans?

Across all 927 Google reviews (December 2016 – July 2026): 79% are five-star and 92% are four- or five-star. The most-praised themes are the planning (37% of positive reviews) and specific team members by name (41%) — guests tend to credit a person, not a company. The critical 7.9% most often complain about hotels, which is why our quotes now name the hotel in writing before you pay.

What do the negative reviews complain about?

Of the 73 reviews rated 1–3 stars, the most common theme is hotels (38%) — typically the room or property not matching what the guest expected — followed by transport (29%) and communication (18%). We publish this because it is in the reviews anyway, and because it is the list we manage the business against: itemised written quotes that name the hotel, and a commitment to reply to critical reviews.

Why does Google show 4.6 but your site says 4.9?

Both are real, and they measure different windows. 4.6 is the all-time average of every review since December 2016 — this analysis computes 4.61 from the same public corpus. 4.9 is our average over the last 12 months, which we lead with because it reflects the current team and the way trips run today. The all-time number carries a rough patch we have written about openly on our About page.

Are these reviews genuine?

Every review counted here is public on our Google listing — you can read all of them there, unfiltered, including every one-star. This page adds counting, not curation: the corpus is scraped as-is, the analysis script is deterministic, and the method is published below.

Do you respond to negative reviews?

Historically, not often enough — our own data shows owner replies on just 19 of the 73 critical reviews. As of July 2026 we commit to replying to critical reviews as standard practice; the commitment and how we handle it are on our reviews page.

How this page stays true

Every figure is machine-generated from the public review corpus — no hand edits, no curation of which reviews count. The critical-review section exists because hiding it would be pointless: the reviews are public either way. Published July 2026; numbers refresh with the quarterly rating recompute.
