Andaman honeymoon on a budget: the ₹-per-couple maths
Most honeymoon pages quote a number and leave you to discover the rest. This one shows the whole sum: what the package costs for two, what flights add, which add-ons are worth it, and the one switch that saves more than all the small economies put together. Our 5-night Classic honeymoon starts at ₹56,000 per couple — here is what sits around it.
A 5-night honeymoon, line by line
| What | Cost for two | The honest note |
|---|---|---|
| Land package — Classic honeymoon, 5 nights | ₹56,000 | Port Blair, Havelock and Neil with sea-view stays, one candlelight beach dinner, private transfers and all ferries. This is our published from-price for two people. |
| Flights — return, both of you, from Chennai | ₹9,000 – ₹27,000 | ₹4,500 – ₹13,500 each return, as of July 2026. Chennai is the cheapest band and flies direct year-round; from Delhi or Mumbai the same two seats cost considerably more. |
| Couple photoshoot (optional) | ~₹2,000 | The one add-on we would actually argue for. You will not be back here in a hurry, and phone photos of the two of you together are hard to come by. |
| Meals outside the package, personal spends | your call | Not included, and the islands are dearer than the mainland for food. Budget honestly for it rather than being surprised. |
| Realistic all-in, from Chennai | ₹65,000 – ₹85,000 | Excluding personal spending. From Delhi or Mumbai, add the difference in the flight band. |
Built from our published rates as of July 2026 — an illustration of how the sum works, not a quote for your dates. Real quotes come with your months, your departure city and the rooms actually available, and we put every line in writing before you pay. The general anatomy of a trip price sits on our trip cost page.
Cut this, keep that
Keep: the sea-view room
On a honeymoon this is the one upgrade that earns its money, because you are actually in the room. Cutting to a garden view saves less than people expect and costs the thing you came for.
Keep: private transfers
Shared transfers mean waiting on other people's schedules on your honeymoon. It is a small line on the bill and a large one on the day.
Keep: the photoshoot, at ~₹2,000
The cheapest thing on this page that you will still have in twenty years.
Cut: extra islands
The single most expensive mistake is adding a third or fourth island to a short trip. Every extra hop is a ferry, a transfer and half a day. Fewer islands, better rooms, is almost always the better honeymoon.
Cut: the long-range boat days
Barren Island and the far excursions are wonderful and they are not honeymoon-shaped — long, weather-dependent days on a boat. Save them for a diving trip.
Cut: December 15 to January 15
Not an activity, a fortnight. It is the surcharge window, and shifting either side of it saves more than every other cut on this list combined.
The month is the biggest lever you have
Nothing else on this page moves the number as much as when you go. A budget 5N/6D land package starts around ₹16,500 per person in June–September against ₹28,000+ in peak season — and on top of that, hotels apply a surcharge from December 15 to January 15 and flights run two to three times normal in that window.
Our honest pick for a couple watching the budget is September to November: the sea has settled after the monsoon, everything is running, and you are still ahead of the surcharge. Worth knowing that the surcharge is mostly a popular-hotel practice — plenty of smaller places do not levy it, which is something we can work with when we quote. The month-by-month reasoning is on our best time to visit guide, and October gets a page of its own.
What a budget honeymoon actually gives up
Hotel tier, not hotel quality
A budget honeymoon means a clean, well-run, sea-view room rather than a private-pool villa. It does not mean somewhere we would not stay ourselves — we would rather move your dates than put you somewhere poor.
Choice, if you book late
The saving comes from booking early into the right month. Leave it late and you are choosing from what nobody else wanted, which is where budget starts to mean compromised.
Some flexibility on dates
The month switch is where the real money is. If your dates are locked to the December holidays, a budget honeymoon is a harder ask and we will tell you so upfront.
Where the money hides
The costs that catch couples out are rarely the big ones. Food on the islands is dearer than the mainland and mostly sits outside the package. Optional activities added on the ground price differently from activities planned in advance. And the gap between "package" and "trip" is where most billing arguments start — which is why we write down what is included and what is not, before you pay anything, and quote a payment schedule you agree to rather than one that moves.
“Food across the Andaman is costly (at PP, Havlock also in Neil islands).”
— Iyarappan, Apr 2019, 4★ Google review
We have left that one up because it is true and useful. A guest telling you the food is expensive is worth more than us telling you the trip is cheap.
When it goes wrong, this is what we do
“We missed our flight on 23rd April but when I called them they reschedule everything. When we reached Port Blair, We met Mr. Rohit. He was very warm welcoming. … They made our honeymoon very special.”
— Pavitra, May 2017, 5★ Google review
A tight budget and a missed flight are the two things that turn a honeymoon into a bad memory. Booking direct with the operator on the ground is what makes the second one fixable.
Budget honeymoon questions, answered straight
How much does an Andaman honeymoon cost for a couple?
Our 5-night Classic honeymoon package starts at ₹56,000 per couple — that covers Port Blair, Havelock and Neil with sea-view stays, a candlelight beach dinner, private transfers and all ferries. Flights sit on top: from Chennai, two return seats run roughly ₹9,000 to ₹27,000 depending on how far ahead you book and the month. So a realistic all-in from Chennai is about ₹65,000 to ₹85,000 excluding personal spending. Across all couples we host, total spend excluding flights typically lands between ₹45,000 and ₹1,10,000, depending on season, hotel tier and how many activities get added.
Can you do an Andaman honeymoon under ₹60,000?
It depends on two things you control: the month and the city you fly from. The land package alone starts at ₹56,000 per couple, so under ₹60,000 all-in is only realistic in the cheaper months and from a low-fare departure city like Chennai. Off-season rates run meaningfully below peak — a budget 5N/6D land package starts around ₹16,500 per person in June–September against ₹28,000+ in peak season — so a monsoon honeymoon genuinely costs less. Tell us your ceiling and your dates and we will tell you honestly whether it fits, rather than quoting you something and adding to it later.
Which is the cheapest month for an Andaman honeymoon?
June to September is cheapest outright, with the monsoon trade-offs — passing storms, rougher crossings, water sports running limited rather than full. The better answer for most couples is September to November: the sea has settled, everything is running, and you are still ahead of the December 15 to January 15 surcharge window. That surcharge is the single biggest lever on the price. Note it is mainly the popular hotels that apply it — smaller properties often do not, which is something we can work with when we quote.
Does a budget honeymoon mean bad hotels?
No, and if it did we would tell you to change the dates instead. A budget honeymoon with us means a clean, well-run place with the sea view you came for, rather than a private-pool villa. What it does mean is booking early into the right month — the couples who end up disappointed are usually the ones who booked late into peak season and took what was left. We will not put you somewhere we would not stay, and we will say so if your budget and your dates do not meet.
What is not included in a honeymoon package?
Flights to Port Blair, meals outside the ones listed in your plan, personal spending, and any optional activity you add later. Food on the islands costs more than most people expect — that is worth budgeting for honestly rather than discovering. Everything that is included is written down before you pay, and what is not included is written down too. We put it in writing precisely so there is nothing to argue about later.

How this page stays true
Written by the Tropical Andamans team in Port Blair, as of July 2026. Every figure here comes from our own published rates — the ₹56,000 Classic honeymoon price, the season tiers and the flight bands are the same numbers on our packages and cost pages, kept in step. The worked example is an illustration built from those rates, not a quote for your dates, and it says so where it sits. We have deliberately named no hotel: we name only properties we actually book, and the right one depends on your month. Prices move — we re-check this page each season and re-quote against your real dates rather than a table.
Tell us your ceiling.
Send your dates and the number you have in mind. We will tell you honestly what it buys — and if it does not stretch to the trip you want, we will say which month makes it work instead.
